1. Do you see that my teeth are an implant?
No, if a dental implant is placed correctly, it will look just
like your regular teeth lying around. The dental implants today are very true
to nature and are adapted to the color of your real teeth.
Normally no one sees that you have a dental implant.
2. How can a dental implant help me preserve my remaining
teeth?
If you lose one or more teeth in a part of your mouth, it
can cause the surrounding teeth to start moving.
When the teeth begin to move, it can lead to differences /
deviations in the height and contours of the gums, which in turn can lead to dental
diseases such as tooth loss and caries. Moving teeth can also affect the
appearance of your smile.
A dental implant can replace the missing tooth and thus
prevent the surrounding teeth from moving.
3. I have tooth loss, can I still have dental implants?
Yes, dental patients can have implants. However, it is
important that the teeth around the implant are treated for tooth loss before
the dental implant is put in place. The risks of complications can also be slightly
higher if you suffer from tooth loss.
4. What complications can I get if I get dental implants?
If you are unlucky, you can get an infection. This happens
if bacteria enter between the implant and the mucous membrane.
The inflammation can lead to the jawbone loosening or the
implant coming loose. Then you have to do a new operation.
It is important that you who have received an implant have
good oral hygiene and do not smoke.
